The Foundation for Taxpayer & Consumer Rights (FTCR) is a Santa Monica, California-based organization that defines itself as "a nationally-recognized, California-based, non-profit education and advocacy organization. Our job is to fight to protect your interests every day. We provide people with the facts, not propaganda. We hold the politicians and the special interests accountable when they endanger the public."
On December 17, 2004, FTCR put out a press release entitled "Prop 71's Stem Cell Oversight Committee Rife With Conflicts of Interest".
On January 14, 2005, FTCR spokesperson David Fink was interviewed by California Politics Today.
During that interview he talked about how the FTCR was now actively consulting with patent attorneys as part of their effort to assure that California taxpayers receive a fair share of whatever profits are generated by the$3/6 (what it will take to pay off the bonds) billion investment in bio-medical research they will be making under the terms of Proposition 71.
