Richard M. Doerflinger is the Deputy Director of the Secretariat for Pro-Life Activities a department of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Mr. Doerflinger spoke this morning with California Politics Today about embryonic stem cell research issues, focusing on concerns related to egg extraction from women and the release today of guidelines for embryonic stem cell research issued by the National Academy of Sciences, guidelines which Mr. Doerflinger compared to guidelines regulating Pinto automobiles issued by the Ford Motor Company.
