Assembly Elections Committee will vote on AB 583 on Tuesday, January 10, 2006
In that interview, Mr. Tang indicated that the swing vote for passage of AB 583 through the California Assembly's Elections Committee is fiscally-conservative
California Assemblymember Tom Umberg. Mr. Tang also expressed the view that AB 583
is a fiscally-conservative piece of legislation, because a legislature elected with clean money was likely to be able to bring in substantial revenue from sectors of the economy that are currently protected through the existing system of privately-funded campaign financing.
California Clean Money Campaign's Tang urges voters to contact key members of the Elections Committee
Mr. Tang urged voters who support clean money for California to send faxes to Assemblymember Umberg and the two Republican members of the Elections Committee expressing their position on this issue. The fax numbers for these members are:
Assemblymember Tom Umberg 916-319-2169
Assemblymember Michael N. Villines 916-319-2122
Assemblymember Mark Wyland 916-319-2174
