City of Santa Monica passes sweeping public anti-smoking ban

According to a report from the local ABC station in Los Angeles, California, entitled "Santa Monica City Council Approves Smoking Ban Extension," the City of Santa Monica City Council voted last night unanimously, 6-0, to ban tobacco smoking "at all outdoor restaurants, service areas, the Third Street Promenade and Farmers Markets."
